Lexy in London: When in Iceland.
Hello, everyone. I know, I know I haven't exactly been keeping up with updating my blog every single week (like I said I would) but life has been pretty hectic. I have my first batch of assessments, or assignments as they’re called in the U.S., this week and everything is pretty stressful, but oh so exciting. However, I wanted to take this time to update the blog on my most recent trip!
This past weekend a few of my flatmates and I went to Reykjavik, Iceland. It was seriously such an incredible experience. I honestly had no idea what to expect, but the natural beauty and interesting history was so cool to experience and learn about. I’m so grateful we got to experience Iceland, and I recognize how fortunate I am to be able to see this incredible natural wonder of the earth.
We were in Iceland from late Thursday night to really early Monday morning (we had to be at the bus stop near our Airbnb at 2:30 am). I know it was a trip of a lifetime, and honestly, seeing the natural beauty and serenity of Iceland made this city girl, and Texan, want to buy a summer house there just to bask in the natural beauty and rich culture. There’s something so peaceful about having wide open space to reflect with no one around for miles.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to go back to Iceland one day and explore more of the beautiful capital and see everything the country has to offer. But for now, I'll leave you all with some lovely pictures from our adventures, and even though we were only in Iceland for a short time many, many adventures were had.
Also, I promise to update more of my adventures, like Ireland, and just general day to day happenings in beautiful London very, very soon.
Spread Kindness and Be Altruistic.
Best,
Lexy.
This is a picture of the airport. Everything was in Icelandic, but everyone we encountered spoke English.
We decided to go to the cafe and this is my hot chocolate and a chocolate croissant. Both were quite delicious.
This was taken after I hiked up the glacier.
Simply beautiful.
The weather was so beautiful. We got to see a rainbow and the waterfall.
Another shot of a cute street downtown.
Side of the Hallgrímskirkja chapel.
Front view of the Hallgrímskirkja.
We stopped on the side of the road to see some horses. Apparently there are many types of Icelandic horses, and they may be small, but they are fast.
Another picture of the horses.
Another beautiful waterfall.
View of a glacier. We hiked a short way to see it, but on the side of a mountain with ice and rocks. It was quite scary for someone with a fear of heights. And falling.
Beautiful black sand beach. According to our tour guide, it’s one of the 10 best non-tropical beaches in the world.
A side view of all the rocks formed on a mountain on the black sand beach.
Another shot of the beach. So beautiful.

This is a side view of the Hallgrímskirkja cathedral. Very stunning.
We went to a museum that was right around the corner from where we stayed called Tales of Iceland. I learned pretty much everything one can know about Iceland’s history (i’m basically an expert now).
This is a view of the mountains about 2 minutes away from where we stayed.
This is a photo of the beautiful Harpa, which is a concert hall in Reykjavik.
Picture of a quaint town. Apparently, you can never get a picture that clear, but we were lucky with the weather all day.
Although the weather was so beautiful, it was also very cold. When we went to the blue lagoon, the water was very hot but even the walk from the door to the water was freezing.
